Coronation Chair - Westminster Abbey

The chair was commissioned in 1296 by King Edward I, and contains the stone of Scotland; (Stone of Destiny) it was kept at Scone Abbey and had been captured by the English from Scotland (battle of Dunbar). The chair was named after St Edward the Confessor.  Since the 14th century all monarchs have used the chair for their coronation.

St James’s Park underground (District and Circle Lines) 5-minute walk via Victoria Street to Westminster Abbey.
