National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London - King George V

King George V was known as the ‘Sailor Prince’ and served 15 years in the Royal Navy - under the command of his uncle - Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh. The sinking of the luxury passenger ship ‘Titanic’ in 1912 occurred during George’s reign.

Read about the Titanic, the country’s history of trade and discoveries, also view the model ship - HMS King George V - built by Vickers-Armstrongs Limited, Newcastle upon Tyne - completed in 1940.

Open daily from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.  Allow 2 hours for a tour.

Entrance to the museum is free but a ticket is required for entry – see website for exhibitions etc.

Trains leave from London Bridge Station to National Maritime Museum – average time 20 minutes.
