Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace was originally intended for Cardinal Wolsey, but quickly became the favourite home of King Henry VIII, it is a royal palace within the borough of Richmond Upon Thames and it is surrounded by magnificent gardens.  Jane Seymour, Henry’s third wife, died at Hampton Court Palace - following childbirth - and it is alleged that her ghost, a ‘white wraith’ appears on the anniversary of her death.

Audio tour is available, very interesting Tudor kitchens, an enormous palace with many exhibitions (plan to spend the day there).

Trains depart from London’s Waterloo Station to Hampton Court - travelling time on average takes 30 minutes.

Entrance fee: adult £25.30 and children £12.60
