King Henry III
An important feature of King Henry III’’s reign was the commencement of Parliament.
The Houses of Parliament were built at the same location as William the Conqueror’s first palace. Colour codes of the Houses of Parliament: gold is used by the monarch; red for the lords; and green for the commons. The monarch attends Parliament once a year for the State Opening of Parliament.
