The Bayeux Tapestry - Museum - King William I
The Bayeux Tapestry is a very famous large embroidery (about 68 metres long) which outlines the Norman invasion and the Battle of Hastings of 1066; it depicts 126 main characters, and each scene gives a brief description in Latin.
The Bayeux Tapestry is held in a museum in Bayeux, which is a 15- minute walk from Bayeux Railway Station (there are 3 museums in Bayeux short distance between them).
Trains depart from London St Pancras to Paris (Gare du Nord), average time 2 hours 40 minutes.
From Gare du Nord follow signs for RER Line E and take this for the one-stop 4-minute journey to Gare Saint Lazare.
