Norwich Castle - King William I

King William I, ordered Norwich Castle to be built in 1067 and it is famous for ‘The Revolt of the Earls’.

The ‘Revolt of the Earls’ (1075) was a rebellion of three earls in an attempt to dethrone King William I.  

Allow 2 hours for the tour – packed with history and exhibitions.

London Liverpool Street to Norwich, average travelling time just under 2 hours.  It is a 10- minute walk from the station to the castle via Prince of Wales Road, and a 15-minute walk via King Street.  The castle is situated at the top of a hill and provides an excellent view of Norwich.
