King Edward IV

Also known as ‘Earl of March’

Born - 28th April 1442 Rouen, Normandy

Claim to the Throne - eldest surviving son of Richard, Duke of York, who died at the Battle of Wakefield 1470, this was when Edward inherited his claim to the throne.

Died - 9th April 1483 Westminster, England.  Cause of death is unknown, died suddenly, poison was suspected but could have been pneumonia or tuberculosis.

Buried - St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle

King Edward V

Born - 2nd November 1470, Westminster, England

Claim to the Throne - eldest son of King Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville

Died - Tower of London 1483 aged 12. Cause of Death - Murdered? Unknown!

Buried - Unknown

King Richard III

Born - 2nd October 1452, Fotheringhay Castle, Northamptonshire

Claim to the Throne - declared himself King after the death of his two nephews.

Died - 22nd August 1485, Bosworth Field, Leicestershire.  Cause of Death - died in battle, surrounded by the men of William Stanley.

Buried - Leicester Cathedral re-interred 26th March 2015.
