The House of Windsor

King George V changed the British Royal Family’s name from - Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to the English name of Windsor (17th July 1917 – Royal Proclamation).  London had been bombed in March 1917, by Gotha G.IV, (First World War) this name naturally brought attention to the Germanic roots of the British Royal Family.
