King Henry VII
Also known as Henry Tudor - First Tudor King
Born - 28th January 1457, Pembroke Castle, Wales
Claim to the Throne - Lady Margaret Beaufort ‘s father was the Duke of Somerset and was a great-grandson of King Edward III through his fourth but third surviving son - John of Gaunt by Katherine Swynford - who was Gaunt’s mistress for 25 years they married in 1396 - and it was King Richard II who legitimised their children.
Died - 21st April 1509, Richmond Palace, Surrey, England. Cause of death - tuberculosis.

King Henry VIII
Born – 28th June 1491, Palace of Placentia, Greenwich, Kent
Parents – King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
Claim to the Throne - son of King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
Died - 28th January 1547 - Palace of Whitehall, London. Cause of Death - natural causes but had become obese and suffered from an ulcerated leg.
Buried - St George’s Chapel, Windsor
King Edward VI
Born - 12th October 1537, Hampton Court Palace, Middlesex, England
Claim to the Throne - son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour
Died - Palace of Placentia, Greenwich, London 6th July 1553. Cause of Death - Tuberculosis

Nine Days A Queen - ‘Lady Jane Grey’
Born - 1536 Bradgate Park, Leicestershire
Claim to the Throne - Edward VI named Lady Jane Grey as his successor, because she was a protestant, Edward and his council did not want the return of the Roman Catholic religion. Lady Jane Grey was the great-grand daughter of King Henry VII. Edward and Jane were first cousins – once removed.
Died - 12th February 1554 - Tower of London. Cause of death - executed for high treason.

Known as ‘Bloody Mary’
Born - 18th February 1516, Palace of Placentia, Greenwich
Claim to the Throne - daughter of King Henry VIII and Queen Catherine of Aragon
Died - 17th November 1558, St James’s Palace, London. Cause of Death - Reproductive system disease.
Buried - Westminster Abbey, London
Queen Elizabeth I - known as ‘Good Queen Bess’
Born - 7th September 1533, Palace of Placentia, Greenwich
Claim to the Throne - daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn
Died - 24th March 1603 - Richmond Palace. Cause of death - sepsis.
