There is a statue of Oliver Cromwell outside the House of Commons; he is holding a bible and sword - the statue was designed by Hamo Thornycroft in 1899 and is Grade II listed for its architectural merit.  Oliver Cromwell’s rule is an important part of England’s aristocratic history.
