It was King George III, who commissioned the Gold State Coach, which is an enclosed eight-horse drawn carriage currently used by the Royal Family and has been used for the coronation of every monarch since King George IV.  The coach is kept at the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace.

Visit the Royal Mews - Gold State Coach, explore the State Rooms, Picture Gallery, Ballroom, and Gardens (42 acres).

Tours vary in price ranging from about £20.00 to £90.00 - depending on what you want to visit.

Best tube stations to reach Buckingham Palace are probably St James’s Park and Green Park, about a 10-minute walk, providing pleasant green scenery (2 minutes in a taxi would cost £5-£6).
