Queen Alexandra Memorial - Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel

This is a bronze statue showing the Queen wearing full coronation robes.  Queen Alexandra spent many days visiting the wards of this Hospital and she was made president of the Hospital in 1904. 

The Royal London Hospital Museum - (located behind the Royal London Hospital).

Provides a good history of the Hospital as well as people associated with it, also letters concerning Jack the Ripper and details of John Merrick (the elephant man) amongst many other interesting items to view, such as medical equipment, exhibitions and films (free admission).

The nearest underground station is Whitechapel, it is a 6-minute walk to the Hospital. (Travel zonecard 2).
