The Queen Eleanor Memorial Cross - King Edward I
Queen Eleanor was the first wife of King Edward I. Outside Charing Cross station, London, there is a statue of Eleanor ‘The Queen Eleanor Memorial Cross.’ Although Eleanor died in Nottinghamshire her body was brought back to London and a cross was erected at 12 locations along the journey (where the funeral cortege rested overnight) - but the most famous being at Charing Cross.
