City of London Police Museum - King George IV
The Metropolitan Police Force was set up during King George IV’s reign (1829) by Sir Robert Peel. The City of London Police Museum is a small museum but details the history of the city’s police force and there are interesting things to see such as weapons and communications and crimes dealt with such as Jack the Ripper, self-service audio guide available. Access to the museum is through the Guildhall Library.
Entrance - admission is free.
Nearest stations: Bank, Moorgate and St. Paul’s are all about a 5-minute walk.
