King George I, First Hanoverian King of Great Britain

Claim to the Throne - distant cousin of Queen Anne.  George’s mother, Sophia Stuart, was granddaughter of King James I of England.

Died - 22nd June 1727 - Germany.  Cause of death - stroke.

Buried - Chapel of the Leine-Schloss, Hanover, Germany - the last British monarch to be buried outside the UK.

King George II

Born - 30th October 1683, Hanover, Germany

Claim to the Throne - son of King George I and Sophia Dorothea of Celle

Died - 25th October 1760 - Kensington Palace, London.  Cause of death: thoracic aortic dissection.

Buried - Westminster Abbey, London

King George III

Born - 4th June 1738 - Norfolk House, St James’s Square, London

Claim to the Throne - grandson of King George II and eldest son of Frederick, Prince of Wales

Died - 29th January 1820, Windsor Castle.  Cause of death - unspecified.

Buried - St George’s chapel - Windsor

King George IV

Born - 12th August 1762 - St James’s Palace, London

Claim to the throne - eldest child of King George III and Queen Charlotte

Died - 26th June 1830 Windsor Castle.  Cause of death - upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

King William IV

Born - 21st August 1765 Buckingham House (Palace)

Parents - King George III and Queen Charlotte

Claim to the Throne - third child of King George III and Queen Charlotte

Died - 20th June 1837, Windsor Castle.  Cause of death - heart attack.

Queen Victoria

Born - 24th May 1819 - Kensington Palace, London

Claim to the Throne - granddaughter of King George III

Died - 22nd January 1901, Osborne House, Isle of Wight.  Cause of death - haemorrhagic stroke.

Buried - Frogmore Mausoleum, Windsor
